In 1992, the Greek Film Week became an International Festival growing stronger and stronger each year and establishing a reputation for promoting new cinematic voices from all over the world since its international competition program consists exclusively of first or second features.Ĭelebrating the TIFF’s semicentennial anniversary, its most important anniversary to date, Despina Mouzaki – for the fifth consecutive time at the helmet of the fest – did her best at a very significant moment in time for the world, as well as Greek cinema since she faced a domestic cinematic controversy which cast some clouds over the celebrations.
